Explore Around

FLORESTRAL'S LITTLE PIECE OF PURE PARADISE IS SURROUNDED BY A LAVISH, RICH RAINFOREST AND INCREDIBLE BEACHES WITH COLORFUL SUNSETS.

Our expansive and unique facility functions fully off the grid and in deep connection with mother nature in our forest home. We are an eco-retreat center with a focus on sustainable living and giving back to mother nature. We have a diverse team of staff and residents that work together to maintain the harmonious balance of life in the forest. We are located in the lush Diamante Valley on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, being situated on several hectares of pristine rainforest, with many hiking trails available for exploration. While you stay with us, you can swim in the beautiful Diamante river that runs through the property and enjoy scenic pools and waterfalls and many quiet spaces for reflection.

If you are looking to explore the area, Florestral is 30 minutes to Dominical, a world-renowned surfing destination with great restaurants and shopping. We are also 30 minutes from San Isidro, a large city center with many amenities, modern medical facilities and government services. Close to us is also Uvita, a small village in the South Pacific, famous for hosting the Envision festival and being one of the best places in Costa Rica for wildlife and nature. Uvita is a favorite destination for those looking for a peaceful location in nature as it's not as developed or touristic as the North Pacific.

Getting Here

Getting Here

WONDERING WHAT TRAVEL OPTIONS ARE TO GET TO FLORESTRAL?

SJO Juan Santamaria Airport located very close to a city called Alajuela, is the biggest international airport of Costa Rica and the best way to get here. From the airport, you have several options to get to Florestral. In the case of late arrival, you can book a hotel close to the airport in the area of Alajuela or Santa Ana/Escazu. There are quite a large number of hotels in those areas and prices vary depending of course on what type of hotel you desire.

It's true that the best way to travel in Costa Rica is by rental car. This will give you a feeling of freedom to go whenever you want, wherever you want. However there are other options too. One would be to go to San Jose to MUSOC BUS terminal and from there get a bus to San Isidro which takes around 5 hours and costs around 14 USD per person. Once you have arrived, we can then organize a taxi for you to get to Florestral. A more comfortable, shorter and relax way to travel to Florestral is going by private taxi directly from airport, which takes around 3 hours and costs between 150 - 180 USD.  We are located in the Southern Pacific zone of Costa Rica. The Land is between the city of San Isidro General (also known as Perez Zeledon) and the beach/surf town of Dominical.

COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES AT FLORESTRAL

Traveling to Costa Rica is now open to tourists from all over the world, however, just like all the other countries, there are certain health guidelines that must be followed.  In towns or cities, wearing a mask indoor shops or institutions and washing hands at the entrance are mandatory rules. As well, you are required to follow the same safety procedures in airport upon arrival or departure.

At Florestral, your safety and well-being are our main priority and for this we have also put in place certain protocols to ensure the welfare of all our guests in response to Covid-19:

Everybody’s temperature is taken upon arrival to the center. All communal spaces, the kitchen and the temples are disinfected and cleaned every day, hand sanitizer is available everywhere. When a retreat is taking place, we make sure there that the setting is following the safety protocols and each guest is provided with his own cleaned and disinfected mattress, bedding set and drinking cup.

Certainly, choosing to travel abroad is one’s own responsibility and decision. Here at Florestral, we support calmness of mind, healing of fears and living in trust with the flow of the Universe.

Join Our Volunteering Program

Volunteering is a special balance of giving and receiving. We live and work with a karma yoga approach, this means that we receive and fulfill the work we do each day with devotion and consciously aware that we are offering our work for a greater purpose, this inspires us to give the best we can and thus with the understanding that we are all contributing to the community which in a wider scope is also our greater contribution to life itself.
