The Diamante Songbook

SOL Circle compiled this diamond of a medicine songbook in 2016

It was the fourth songbook that we compiled since stepping into the role of facilitation and establishing the Sound of Light as a Sacred Medicine Circle in 2007

The songbook is a compilation, made up of songs coming from various traditions and honoring various spiritual pathways. Some of the songs are original to Sound of Light (Vismay, Nicole, close friends of the Circle)

As much as possible we always try to include the song author's name beside the song title.

As with all of our songbooks we created sections in the book, which embrace songs either belonging to a certain tradition or language.

In ceremony, the songs are sung in passages, as each song carries a different potential through the way it is sung and to the moment that it is sung to, filling the space with vibrations and thus guiding the individual and collective journey.

Why are these songs considered to be medicine?

These are songs of prayer, of affirmation, invocation and they carry messages that unlock inner guidance upon the path of awakening, not only in ceremony but also in life!

So when we sing them, they provide warmth to the heart, clarity to the mind, and open a channel for the release of spiritual illnesses of ignorance and suffering.

Hence the songs themselves are medicine for the soul!

We are very impressed with how far across the globe this songbook has traveled, being sung in circle and in homes, carried by those that have sat with us in circle.

There are top-hit songs that everyone loves, and there are many other jewels hidden within it's pages..

The Diamante Marathon

In our first year of facilitating the SOL Apprenticeship program - a deep opportunity to study the medicine path of SOL, a 3 month course dedicated to a discovery of the sacred space, intentional study of the music, explore self-expression and step onto the path of service - the idea arrived to sing the entire songbook from beginning to end, that’s 259 songs, in one extended ceremony, with medicine being served every 2-4 hours.

A perfect way to experience each and every song, while practicing prescence and dedication to the journey!

Inspired by the Santo Daime tradition, where one hymnal is consecutively sung from beginning to end.

And like this the Diamante Marathon was manifested!

We held our 3rd Diamante Marathon this year, with the added intention of celebrating this songbook, all the teachings and connections it has provided, all the magical moments that have been experienced singing the songs from its pages, all the people who channeled these pearls of truth, healing, joy..

And now the time is arriving for a new songbook to be born..

And even so, Diamante will continue to accompany us and shine upon our path!

For the teachings are there, and we learn them again and again..
